New updates How to change and update Aadhar card name

Aadhaar Card is a unique identification document issued by the Government of India, containing a 12-digit number linked to an individual’s biometric (fingerprint, iris scan) and demographic details. It serves as proof of identity and address and is used for accessing various government services and subsidies.

To change the name in Aadhaar card, you need to follow these steps:

1. Online Process (Self-Service through My Aadhaar)


Step 1: Visit the official website of UIDAI: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in


Step 2: Click on “Login” and login by entering your Aadhaar number and OTP.


Step 3: Select the “Update Demographic Data” option.


Step 4: Here you will get the option to change the name. Enter your correct name and upload supporting documents (like passport, voter ID card, PAN card, etc.).


Step 5: After submitting, you will get a URN (Update Request Number) which you can track the status.


Note: You must have a valid document proof to change the name in Aadhaar online.


Offline Process (Visiting Aadhaar

Enrolment/Update Centre) 


Step 1: You need to visit your Aadhaar Enrolment/Update Centre. Locate a centre Use the "Locate an Enrolment Centre" option on the UIDAI website.


Step 2: Fill the "Aadhaar Correction Form" there and add valid proof along with your name.


Step 3: Submit the form and complete the biometric verification process.


Step 4: You will get an acknowledgement slip which will mention the URN. With the URN, you can track the status of your request.


Documents required for name change:


•Passport


•PAN card 


•Voter ID


•Driving licence 


•(Government issued ID with name)


You should also have a registered mobile number to process the online change, as OTP verification is required.

To download your Aadhaar card (e-Aadhaar) online, follow these steps: 


1. Visit the UIDAI website: Visit the official UIDAI website at https://uidai.gov.in.


2. Go to e-Aadhaar: Click on the "My Aadhaar" tag and select the "Get Aadhaar" section under "Download Aadhaar".


3. Enter your details: Select Aadhaar number, enrollment database (e-database), or virtual database (V).


Enter the relevant information along with your name in full, PIN code, and security code (captcha).


4. Download OTP: Click on "OTP Subscriber" to receive your registered mobile number on One-Time Password (OTP).


5. Enter OTP: Enter the OTP received on your mobile and click on "Verify and Download".


6. Download e-Aadhaar: Your e-Aadhaar will download as a PDF file.


7. Aadhaar PDF for Passport: The PDF is password protected. It is a combination of the first four letters of your name (in the Aadhaar card) and your year of birth. For example, if your name is vikash and you were born in 2002, the password will be vikash 2002.


You can print the downloaded Aadhaar if needed.
