Incident ray – A ray that strikes the surface separating the two optical media is called the incident ray. The angle which the incident ray makes with the normal at the point of incidence is called angle of incidence The angle which the reflected ray makes with the normal at the point of incidence is called the angle of reflection.
Furthermore, the incident ray, reflected ray and a line perpendicular to the wall at the contact point lie in the same plane. We can calculate the amount of refraction using Snell’s law, which shows the relationship between the incident light and refracted light.
Look at the picture the ray of light that hits the surface is called the incident ray. The ray of light that is reflected is called the reflected ray.
